Our Story
Built from a passion for education, driven by the belief that literacy transforms lives.
From a Passion to a Movement
Rural Community Solutions was founded from a deep recognition that many rural communities in Rwanda lack access to basic educational resources—particularly books and spaces dedicated to learning.
What began as a small initiative driven by a passion for education has grown into a mission-centered organization focused on expanding literacy opportunities where they are needed most.
Motivated by the belief that education is not a privilege but a right, RCS was created to build spaces where children could read freely, learn confidently, and imagine new possibilities. The communities we serve also requested adult programs, which led to Adult Literacy Programs and the Farmer-Scientist Initiative (FSI).

What We Stand For
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower rural communities across Rwanda by building libraries that spark literacy, learning, and lasting change—one district at a time. We work to ensure that children and families in underserved areas have access to books, safe learning spaces, and opportunities that nurture curiosity and lifelong learning.
Our Vision
Our vision is to cultivate a generation of young readers in rural Rwanda, where access to books and education ignites a lifelong love of learning. By creating accessible libraries in underserved communities, we aim to inspire curiosity, strengthen literacy skills, and build brighter futures for children and families across the country.
Be Part of the Change
Join us in building a Rwanda where every child has access to the transformative power of education.
